xXx d0jo - History- The History of the Super Fire Pro Animations Main Contributions by Justin Time, Tone, Big Sexy, HaVok. Alright newbies, veterans, donkeyblowers...this is the complete history of the animations scene, and this is here for educational as well as enjoyment purposes. Wehope newbies and veterans alike can get a kick out of this. Also, most importantly if you have any old animations from way back that's not here E-Mail it to us...! With that...the xXx d0jo proudly present the Complete History of the SFP Animations Scene... At first of couse there were the still images. The first two were posted at No Mercy's Firepro Heaven Message Board located as others said "insidetheweb.com". The first two stills were of Sabu moonsaulting Terry Funk through a table of course made by Kactus Ken. Click here for Still One Click here for Still Two His first animation was Vader Powerbombing Ric Flair through a table, now first of all, you must understand that this was was tremendously impressive for that time. It still is quite impressive. That animation was closely followed by an animation of Hayabusa moonsaulting from the top rope to the outside through a table, however this wasn't nearly as good as the powerbomb. His first really big project was an ani of Mike Awesome powerbombing Hayabusa onto a spidernet followed by a Sabu Senton Bomb. The most impressive things about this animation was that it was in a normal arena and included a full camera shift. Now the scene was not yet established, however several animators started animating as well. First in after Kactus Ken was a close tie between Justin Time and a friend of his from an E-Fed, Kurrupt (aka The Artist Formally Known as Kurrupt or AFKAK). Some of Kurupt's animations inlcuded this bulldog onto a chair featuring awesomely realistic blood drawn supposedly in MS-Paint...! Another one of his were these two Ace Crushaaah variations. A ladder assited Ace Crushaah and a top rope Ace Crushaaah Another animator came by the name of Sweet Pea, his animations were also regarded as exceptional for that time. One of his animations was incredible, it featured a bulldog outside a HELL IN A CELL (unthinkable at that time) onto a perfectly drawn chair. To this day many haven't seen a chair drawn as well as this one. Now, Justin Time, who could be considered the second person or third to animate in known history, was really crappy at first. His first animation was Hawk of the LOD 2000 bodyslamming saturn outside a no roped ring (which he editted himself) onto exploding boards. "It sucked" as he uts it but he got better. At this point the active mod of No Mercy's message board was the innovator of Wrestling Rom sites, the highly praised "Freakshow". He created a secondary SFPWXP messageboard made entirely for animations only because he wanted to save people loading time on the original board. One of the best of the very first animators was a poster simply known as JOSH. His animations included this Powerbomb onto two chairs. Another one of his was this Moonsault from the balcony onto a table. he also made this Powerbomb to the outside onto a table animation. At the spawning of the new board legends such as Snakebite (later Snakebite X and Digital Playboy as well as d0jo member ), Big Sexy(d0jo member)and the stress ridden ALEX joined on board. Alex later became the moderator of the board after Kactus Ken left. As a tribute to the Hardcore One, Alex put together the ECW Intro AVI which is still and always has been, at the top of The People's Board. He started a bit of a revolution of 3D wrestling animations along with Ken which actually led to many problems on the board, he often tryed to keep things going when things were dying down and went to Justin Time on many occasions asking him to help moderate but he didn't have much time and was on his way out anyway. He also had to face a lot of floodings that were coming in with the low traffic and slow decline of interest in the board. Other animators coming into force were Shocker, who showed LOADS of promise, Halloween Jack, who made a great 100+ frame ani which really got him noticed. It was some sort of pumpkinpatch casket match and quite impressive, although he wasn't seen much after that. After awhile the board slowly died down, as No Mercy moved from Sympatico to "http://www.firewrestling.com" Another little history lesson for all you, there was another animation "board" that the OLD FPH had. It was like a guestbook and people would post links to their animations. "That's where like 10 neverbeforeseen Tone animations were posted. And believe me, they will STILL never be seen..." - Tone "This isn't relevent but is maybe interesting, in my day ZSNES wasn't nearly as advanced as it is now, it was just sort of starting out, I used a now discontinued and very ancient emulator called ESNES. It was a little easier to opperate, but the only down fall was that it was dos based. Anyway that just another little history lesson." - Justine Time Alex handed the board to Big Sexy, and the animation scene started its road to flourishing. Sprite editing and rotating came to be a lot more popular now that the animators were getting more talented, and the hardcore moves started to get boring and were eventually ditched. Just as the scene was at it's prime point, a ring of flooders came, and destroyed the insidetheweb original board (which I think was mb312802). So we had no board. Tone, being "the quick thinker" that he is, got a NEW insidetheweb board (mb1116373), and even though it was not the original, it was the only one that was even close. Nearly everyone was back, and brought in some new guys, and this is where, in Tone's opinion, the scene was at it's golden age. Tone and Big Sexy did a damn good job on that board. Eventually, insidetheweb.com realized that they were losing profit from people not clicking their banners, and they ended their service. Again, we went through several board changes, until we finally came here...to the now Ezboard. "ITW was king, I wish it were still around. The background is the only thing linking today to the past, somewhat makes you feel at home but you just can't get the right feeling with EZ Board. The Golden Age was truly that, especially for me IMO. I was pumping out solid 5 star animations at least once a week! When ITW went under, so did a vast majority of my interest in animating, I was trying to keep the scene alive with making a new board and was getting shit on at every attempt because I couldn't emulate the ITW style with any current message board company. The scene has had a come back of sorts once again and hopefully it continues to grow even bigger, when things are exciting in the scene it makes old timer's come back and make ani's for the hell of it." - Big Sexy The good old days involved all the crazy hardcore animations with people like Hulk Hogan, Flake's Gillberg Series and many other classic moments in the scene. There was also a period when the big thing was posting skateboarding animations and such. Many think that the scene went downhill when people started to get away from the traditional style, but in all honesty the different styles really help to rejuvenate the battered ol' scene and pump some much needed life into it. There's the "Matrix" styled animations that have grown to be very popular and the gimmicked animations perfected (although not innovated) by Dogglife. The scene has also now grown with more boards (However everyone'll stilll agree The People's is still the best) with Overshadow's being the other big one, although it's basically the newbie board. WrestlingTalks also had an average Animations Section, but it seems to be down now. Lots of various Wrestling Message Boards have also tried to copy the populairity (that it had, and maybe still does) of the scene and create it's own, but with varying success. Today's generation of animators are where it's at and hopefully they'll carry the scene back to it's once great state.
